From the Cathars and their foreboding mountain top castles, to medieval villages with friendly
cafes and charming fountains sheltered by giant plane trees, this is Southern France at it's most authentic with a comfortable relaxed pace of life. For wine lovers, areas like the Minervois are now internationally recognised for producing some of the finest red wines in the world. Vineyards stretch out as far as the eye can see and it is always possible to try a 'degustation' and buy the wines you like direct from the wine producer. And....the chances are you will be doing this on a clear blue skied day as this region has some of the longest sunshine hours in France. It is blessed with short temperate winters, long meandering mild springs, hot summers and long mild autumns that normally stretch into mid December

Anchoring this region are the impressive fortified city of Carcassonne and the vibrant seaside city of Narbonne. Carcassonne is also the arrival point for flights from London, Ireland, Scotland and other major European centres. The history, the breath taking landscapes, the wonderful foods and wines, we really have it all here! Under 2 hours flying time from London then 20 minutes drive to a charming base village such as Caunes Minervois with its famous abbey, cafes, hotels and restaurants situated at the heart of the Minervois Vineyards. Major Cities such as Montpellier, Toulouse and Pepignan are 90 minutes drive and the beaches of the Mediterranean are one hour away. Further away with fast motorway access are the towns and beaches of costa brava in Spain which are under two hours drive from our area.
